Week of the Child- Mac's Room

It is Week of the Child where I live so I thought I would do some posts on children's rooms.  After doing a few nurseries and kid's rooms of my own, I can definitely say they are among my favourite to decorate.  I love doing children's spaces because it seems easier to be brave with colour and pattern.  I thought I would start the week with pictures of my son's nursery.

It is pretty much finished, with the exception of curtains and I hope to wallpaper the ceiling; or maybe the walls and ceiling. I designed the fabric for the curtains at Spoonflower (love this website and will be doing an entire post on them soon.)  My eldest daugther had taken this picture and because the image looked like an 'm' (my son is named Malcolm,) I used it to create the fabric below.

The wallpaper for the ceiling is by Hygge and West and is called Daydream- love!

I hope to post some inspirational children's rooms all this week starting with pictures of my favourite chic nurseries- along with my ideas for a sweet baby girl's abode:)

  1. I need some tips! Poor Frankie has a weird collection of ikea stuff with lots of bags and boxes of clothes too small and too big for her stuffed under and behind her cot...you'd be horrified! mzp x

  4. So pretty... you are so talented!!!
I'm in the middle of moving my 3 kids rooms around which kind of makes for re-doing 3 rooms on a slower pace. Do you have your other kids rooms posted?

la la Lovely- Thanks for the kind words:) I am posting kids related topics all week- tomorrow will be my top wallpaper choices for kids' rooms. 7. Hi Leah,
The painting was a large stretched canvas photograph from IKEA that I painted over with blue paint- a little DIY project:) Thanks for stopping by!

  8. Christine I have been meaning to ask you if the rug is by Jonathan Adler. I would love a rug like this, but the Adler one isn't in my budget at this time. Just wondering if you have any sources for a rug like this at a budget-friendly price. Thank you!
