Bijou Rooms - Nursery

In honour of Week of the Child, here is a nursery designed by yours truly.

The inspiration item that I started with was actually the floral fabric, which is by Alexander Henry; it very inexpensive so could be used for the crib bedding (bumper pad) and curtains.  The pink accent fabric is by Christopher Farr and is a lovely tone on tone floral that could be used for accent cushions and/or pillows.  The chevron rug is by Madeline Weinrib and adds some bright modernity to the room.  The dresser is a vintage bamboo number painted red (I found the image online at casasugar.) that I would use as a changing table. The chandelier is the meurice by Jonathan Adler. I love how it adds glamour and sophistication to the room. The rocker is vintage and the settee I saved some time ago in my pictures file; not sure of its origins.  The crib is made by Oeuf NYC- I have the same one and love it.  The sweet little baby rocker is by Povl Kjer and comes in many colours- j'adore it. 
And now, some other chic baby spaces that prove a Winnie the Pooh bordered room is most definitely NOT the only way to go.

Hum...where to start here?  I love the dark stained panelled wall that - I love the arc lamp (alot!)  I love the IKEA red moose on the wall.  I love the Barcelona chair- I love it all!

Trust me, if you are planning a nursery, you want a sofa/loveseat in it- so perfect for nighttime snuggles.  I love the little elephant and the soft green wallpaper- the birdcage chandelier is entirely too sweet.

The mural and the bed are PERFECT together- and I love the baby Eames rocker.

My favourite part about this room is actually the shocking pink rug in tandem with the aqua walls... and of course, the large yellow giraffe on the wall- it's all just entirely too fun.  This room really illustrates that a seemingly random mix of great pieces can work, even when they don't seem to 'match' (I kind of hate that term but moving on.)

This room actually reminds me of my nursery- I love the natural tones mixed with soft blue. The linear picture display adds real impact to the room.

I love the unexpected yellow, blue and brown palate.  That window shade was actually a DIY and looks completely fabulous!  With the help of Jenny for Little Green Notebook, Joanna from A Cup of Jo put this very chic room together for her son.

  

I love this room!  Most people wouldn't think of dark grey for a nursery but it works so well here.  I love the artwork more than life itself and have been searching for something like it since I first saw this room.  I also love the use of inexpensive nylon butterflies to make a very modern mobile.  The curtains and chandelier are gorgeous.

This one has certainly made its way around blogsphere and for good reason.  The black wall and yellow ceiling stripes are amazing together.  I also love the pop of organge from the mini Panton chair.  The Flor carpet tiles hiding behind the sheepskins are so practical for a babie's room. Katie did her own very sweet version of this room using kelly green stripes.
