My plan of attack for fabric and wallpaper usually goes something like this. I start by going to trade only showrooms and finding the pattern(s) I like. Many designer showrooms won't allow you to borrow or purchase samples so at that point, I log onto my computer and head to Tangletree Interiors in the UK; here you can order as many samples as you like for 1 GBP a piece, which works out to about $1.60/sample- their delivery service is great and the samples usually arrive within a week (their speciality really is wallpaper though, so I am still on the hunt for a great fabric sample source.) After I make a firm decision, I call up Eades and order away. For us 'hope to be designers one day' it really is a pretty good system.
PS- Starting your day with a peruse of ebay can get a girl into trouble- my credit card hates ebay. Here are some beauties I found this morning.
Am I totally nuts for wanting those pink velvet dining chairs? I adore the white chairs in the center with the scroll woodwork and the chrome x-stools might just have to come home with me. I also have my eye on that set of gold faux bamboo cutlery- quite lovely. The 80s clear phone rocks and I would love to rip the tassel off of that divine pink bench- it would look super in my master bath with some towels resting comfortably on top. Let me know if anything tickles your fancy and I will forward the link.
Happy shopping everyone!
