A Story...Magdalena

I haven't done one of these is a while so here you are...a little fiction.

.......

Once upon a time there was a woman named Magdalena who loved peaking out of curtains...

and co-ordinating outfits with her poodle Daphne.

Mags was a highly glamorous sort whose her arm was always besieged by dashing suitors...

whose sole purpose in life was to appear debonair...in a very monochromatic way.

But despite the almost constant barrage of eligible bachelors, Mags found herself lonely.

Her sullen smile and woeful gaze was often seen hiding under this large pink and white striped umbrella...

and this one...

Mags had a thing for shade it seemed.

She also loved dressing up in party dresses...

and having her picture taken looking all forlorn on her bed.

She was a very introspective/melodramatic sort...sometimes she put feathers on her head and hugged bunnies...

just to drown her sorrows...

On the positive side of things, Mags had an amazingly chic sense of style.

Her bold, curated apartment was the envy of all her friends...

As was her shoe collection...

these ones in particular, had everyone seeing green...

Magdalena was also admired for the amazing parties she threw...this weekend she had invited all of her besties to her houseboat....

She had her favouite party planner deck the deck out with floor pillows and fruit...she loved decadence.

Her plan was to spend most of the day languishing just off the coast of her absolute favourite beach...

and hopefully escape her melancholy mood for at least a few hours.

She also hoped to have all her friends back for cocktails on her roof top deck apres sun day...

And after that, a night on the town was planned.

She had visions of partying hard...

these drunk nuns would have nothing on her lot.

Happily, after many days of such predictable dwindles, Magdalena found her one true....

 and was sad no more...

Ralph and his pink straw hat made her as happy as a girl could ever be...the two lived hand in hand...

blissfully ever after.

THE END.
.......

I hope you enjoyed that little diddy and I'm sorry for yet another day of zero blogging yesterday.
My possessed by the devil Toshiba breathed it's last slow crappy breathe yesterday.
The good news is that because it's literally the computer's 4th major repair in less than a year, it's finally being deemed a lemon and I'm hopefully getting a replacement at no charge.. rather than yet another lame attempt at fixing the piece of crap.
As of now, I have a loaner, which I'll keep for a few weeks until the sort out what's going on with Hellicom (PS...that's my made up term for the computer from hell.)
Cross your fingers that I'll soon be able to give it the final send off it deserves...i.e. a flush down the toilet.
Oh and in other news, my giant surprise/fabulously exciting event is coming up in a week...mark your calendars...it's going to be Fuhn!!

  8. I'm glad Mags figured it out and found her soul mate, but she definitely had no reason to be sitting next to her bed all forlorn like that. If you ask me, her life was pretty fabulous pre-Mr. Pink Straw Hat man! I mean, house boats? That apartment? BUNNIES? Pull it together, Mags!

Out of curiosity, do you save on the duty/customs when you pick up stuff in the U.S. I was reading about having your husband pick up your son's big boy bed.

    Have a great day. Katharine
