I want to say a large thanks to those of you who gave me some thoughts re: Monday's post...turns out you want to see more design work etc. so I'll be doing my best to oblige, starting today;)
First things first though, a little professional good news on my end...
I spent yesterday filming my latest segment for Steven & Chris...my very exciting news on that front is that I'm now an official 'expert' on the show, which means I'll be appearing regularly...so, so honoured...pinching myself actually...total.dream.come.true...though admittedly, it was never a dream I actually dreamed of or thought about until it started happening...but now that's it happening, I so love it...I've even found myself channeling the 'I'll have my own show one day' thing during that sweet hot yoga time known as Shavasana.
Fingers crossed on that front.
In the meantime, I've been keeping busy on the design work side of things...building up that portfolio as it were.
I've recently started work on the master bedroom of client whose kitchen eating area I worked on a while back.
Getting return clients is just about as good as it gets for us designer types...feels really swell.
And these clients, well, you simply couldn't ask for more....so sweet and easy to work with...they know their budget, stick to it, and are so incredibly resourceful when it comes to finding amazing options are fabulous and money friendly.
I heart them large.
For this particular project, said clients asked me for help with their master, with this as their inspiration bank...
'
Minty walls...murals...bold accent colours...giddy up my friends.
And after a few back and forths with particulars...
...we've officially decided on this loveliness...
...which involves these particulars:
1. Minty walls with gold mouldings...along these lines...
2. A large wall to wall mural behind the bed courtesy of anewall...
3. An upholstered bed...deciding between these two, which are PS, both under $550...
4. An incredible vintage overdyed rug...
5. A little modern mixed with vintage lighting action...
...just so you know, that last fixture is from CL and costs, 10 bones...yup...it's true.
7. Some IKEA pax goodness, transformed into this sort of dealio...
where can I find a similar floor lamp? LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteFirst off, CONGRATS on being an expert of Steven and Chris. Can I live your life for one day please? So proud of you..I'll keep my fingers crossed for your own show too. I would watch every episode! Also, this room is going to be amazing, gorgeous, spectacular!! You have such vision. I prefer the second headboard. xox

ReplyDeleteThese are all gorgeous! I'm with Kate though, where can I find a similar floor lamp it is to die for!
ReplyDeleteLurve it all, especially the good news. My dream, for serious. Well deserved, my chica. Aces on the gold trim - working on some gold trim as we speak in my master for the updated closet doors to replace the no good, very bad, long sliders.
ReplyDeleteI just love that Ikea light. It's popping up everywhere - no surprise there, as it's such an attractive light.

Fabulous design plans. I would love this room to be in my home. Love these old murals that look like etchings, etc. Congrats on Steve and Chris- you so deserve it! xo Nancy
ReplyDeleteI'm a new reader and I love your style! Just checked out the Etsy seller of the vintage rug that you linked to in this post, and I'm considering getting one of the rugs. Just wondering if you've had any experience with that seller and how the rug turned out. And I'm looking forward to continuing to follow you!
