As pomised, here is the room I designed around the gorgeous wallpaper by Claire Coles. I can't really express how much I love that wallpaper- it is about as perfect a pattern as I have ever seen. From there, I added the glorious yellow velvet bed. I so wish I could fall asleep every night under that glorious headboard and then wake up every morning to its sunny embrace. The chandelier is by Marjorie Skouras Design- I once inquired about this chandelier and the designer couldn't have been nicer. Her work is definitely in both my 'maybe one day if I strike it rich' and 'I love it to death' files. The night stands and lamps are by 1stDibs- again, out of my price range but I included them because: 1. I love the look and 2. I think it would be easy enough to find something similar. The sofa at the foot of the bed is meant to be an inspiration photo for a simple loveseat that when upholstered in amazing fabric, really adds dimension to the room- I love the contrast of the vibrant green with the other accent colours in the room. The blue fabric is a favourite of mine by Neisha Crosland, and is called Zebra; the complimentary rug is by Kevin Sharkey and is available through Martha Stewart. The needlepoint deer head was featured here before (can you tell I love it?) and is by Frederique Morrel. And finally, there is the artwork by Gemma Smith. I absolutely love how angular and colourful it is. On top of her painting work, Gemma also makes the sculptures shown below; she calls these glorious objects 'boulders'- to me they are like giant gem rocks. I would smile endless happy smiles if I came home everyday to one of these beauties (however impractical they might be with three children and a large dog.)
Have you ever? These boulders actually remind me of another favourite item that I have desperately been trying to locate. If anyone knows where I can get one of these pink faceted tables/sculptures, please let me know and I will love you forever.

I have loved that blue chandy in the room you designed. I wish I had a space for something gorgeous like that.

first visit on your blog. love it!
ReplyDeleteI adore this space. It's beautiful, chic, enveloping an edging.
ReplyDeleteI am also similarly fixated on these faceted tables.
I recently saw one here in Houston, though not in pink, at Mecox Gardens.
Perhaps a spray paint job would be in order.

Oh, I just found your blog and am so glad I did! Love this room!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Do you know the fabric on the middle pillow on your banner photo?
Thanks! :)
Thanks everyone! Kandice, the pillow fabric is Manuel Canovas Misia- my absolute favourite print in the world! I had the cushion made with a remnant piece I bought on ebay and hope to purchase some more for curtains for the kitchen-Thanks for stopping by:)
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous! I adore that chandelier and all of the bright colors, just stunning! XX!
ReplyDeleteNew to your blog and I adore the pics of your home!
ReplyDeleteSo it doesn't quite compare to the Marjorie Skouras chandelier, but have you seen Ballard's new Celon Beaded chandelier? At least it's attainable!
