Friday Fancies...Red is Hot

Just in case you didn't already know this...red is h.o.t  for fall.

Now even though I named my child Scarlett (which duh means red,) I don't actually love red...her name came about for many other reasons and I had no way of knowing she was going to have red hair when we named her...she was given that moniker while still residing comfortably in utero...and she was bald until she was two.  As a matter of fact, if I had known she was going to have red hair, I probably wouldn't have named her Scarlett...though I do think it suits her to a T...she's a firecracker to be sure.

Sorry for the tangent...I get asked that question at least once a day and let's just say I am over it.

Anyhoo...back to the topic at hand...red is the colour of the moment I'm told.

And I will admit...it's one sexy hue.

{via here and here}

Though I'm not ready to splash it all over my house and will ALWAYS prefer it's softer cousin pink, I do enjoy me some red in the wardrobe/accessory department...

So what about your...are you going to add some of the this fiery hue to your fall wardrobe?

Make sure you click HERE to see this weeks other fall inspired fancies.

Oh and while I have you, I have to share something I came across yesterday....if you're in the mood for some serious mommy guilt/you're a gluten for punishment, click here to see a 'little' project Angela of The Painted House has been working on with her kids...and just so you know, my two littles were watching TV as I read her post yesteday ....mommy of the year right here.

My Loaner has no Power Point...a Wink of Pink...and an Event

I had another post all dreamed up for today but my possessed computer is still taunting me...turns out the loaner is missing Power Point...the windows trial doesn't include it...what this means is that posting for the next week or so is going to be tres difficult...no pretty boards and such:(
Suckage.

Anyhoo...to get us over the hump, I'm going to just string lots of pretty stuff together...all willy nilly like- please excuse.

First up...a wink of pink since it's been a while....

D&g Pink Scoop Neck Collar Bow Blouse in Pink

As you can see from that list, it seems as though I have a small blouse, clutch and shoe hoarding issue.

You know what else I like...jeans.
Good jeans.
I've gone through many a pair and have definitely settled on Hudson as my favourite brand...though they are a little on the muchos dineros side.
So I am always looking for an alternative jean company to have a little trist with.

Enter...style/fashion icon icon Jeanne Beker...

who has just recently launched EDIT...and a jeans collection called Jeanne Jeans.

I'm interested in this...I like her.
And what's better, Jeanne's personal style team is offering fit clinics because god knows, finding a pair of demims that look good/don't bankrupt you can be a challenge to say the least.

So...if you are Canadian or are coming here for a visit (this week,) make sure you drop by one of these clinics to find a pair of jeans that you can A...afford and B...will fit you...

{Sept 29, starting at 11:00 a.m., at the Bloor location (44 Bloor Street East); Sept 30, starting at 12:00 p.m., at Queen and Yonge (176 Yonge Street); October 6, starting at 12:00 p.m., at Yorkdale Mall (3401 Dufferin Street)}

Oh and just so you know, $5 of every jeans purchase will be donated to Dress for Success and that's a splendid thing.

Happy day all.

A Story...Magdalena

I haven't done one of these is a while so here you are...a little fiction.

.......

Once upon a time there was a woman named Magdalena who loved peaking out of curtains...

and co-ordinating outfits with her poodle Daphne.

Mags was a highly glamorous sort whose her arm was always besieged by dashing suitors...

whose sole purpose in life was to appear debonair...in a very monochromatic way.

But despite the almost constant barrage of eligible bachelors, Mags found herself lonely.

Her sullen smile and woeful gaze was often seen hiding under this large pink and white striped umbrella...

and this one...

Mags had a thing for shade it seemed.

She also loved dressing up in party dresses...

and having her picture taken looking all forlorn on her bed.

She was a very introspective/melodramatic sort...sometimes she put feathers on her head and hugged bunnies...

just to drown her sorrows...

On the positive side of things, Mags had an amazingly chic sense of style.

Her bold, curated apartment was the envy of all her friends...

As was her shoe collection...

these ones in particular, had everyone seeing green...

Magdalena was also admired for the amazing parties she threw...this weekend she had invited all of her besties to her houseboat....

She had her favouite party planner deck the deck out with floor pillows and fruit...she loved decadence.

Her plan was to spend most of the day languishing just off the coast of her absolute favourite beach...

and hopefully escape her melancholy mood for at least a few hours.

She also hoped to have all her friends back for cocktails on her roof top deck apres sun day...

And after that, a night on the town was planned.

She had visions of partying hard...

these drunk nuns would have nothing on her lot.

Happily, after many days of such predictable dwindles, Magdalena found her one true....

 and was sad no more...

Ralph and his pink straw hat made her as happy as a girl could ever be...the two lived hand in hand...

blissfully ever after.

THE END.
.......

I hope you enjoyed that little diddy and I'm sorry for yet another day of zero blogging yesterday.
My possessed by the devil Toshiba breathed it's last slow crappy breathe yesterday.
The good news is that because it's literally the computer's 4th major repair in less than a year, it's finally being deemed a lemon and I'm hopefully getting a replacement at no charge.. rather than yet another lame attempt at fixing the piece of crap.
As of now, I have a loaner, which I'll keep for a few weeks until the sort out what's going on with Hellicom (PS...that's my made up term for the computer from hell.)
Cross your fingers that I'll soon be able to give it the final send off it deserves...i.e. a flush down the toilet.
Oh and in other news, my giant surprise/fabulously exciting event is coming up in a week...mark your calendars...it's going to be Fuhn!!
