My Wedding - Blog Crawl

It's royal wedding day and thus, this romatically themed blog party is in full swing...

For my wedding week post, I thought why not give you a little glimpse of my special day.
I was married 6 years ago on July 16th.
It was the hottest day of the year and pouring rain and was almost like an African monsoon actually- boiling hot but wet and turned out to be just magical- the light was stunning and although my cake literally melted, I wouldn't have changed a thing.
I planned every detail myself and loved the rustic setting...we got married in barn with gorgeous escarpment views and a stunning guest house that we rented for the weekend...the whole place was ours and it was really lovely.
I used crystal candelabras as centerpieces on the long rectangular tables and had chandeliers hanging from ropes and the ceiling rafters.
We served a sit down dinner and also had mimosas, oysters and delicious cocktail goodies...as I said before, the cake melted so we'll leave that out:)
I wore a modified mermaid dress by Rahmanian Huate Couture, a silk long veil and simple white orchid bouqet.
My sister was my bridesmaid and my daughter was my husband's best kid...in a tux no less.
What else...we had a live band who was AMAZING and sparkles at the end of the night- it actually was a ridiculously fun wedding, if I do say so myself:)

Here's a little look at my day- I apologize for the dark/slightly blurry photos- I just scanned my proofs so they aren't the best quality but you get the idea.
My favourite photos are framed in my house so these are a selection of ones we didn't order.
My photographer was Karen Whylie of Coyote Photographs and was just brilliant at capturing our day the way we wanted- totally unstaged and natural...we had a poloroid booth as well, which actually ended up being one of my favourite parts of the day- the photos are among my most loved.

It was a magical day and one I'll never forget.

I hope you enjoyed and make sure you link over to see the other gorgeous wedding posts.

Enjoy the rest of the royal wedding coverage- I plan to be glued to the tv ALL day!!

Friday Fancies - The Royal Wedding

Hooray...it's Friday, which means it's WEDDING DAY!!!

I'm so excited- it's 5am and I'm up and even though I'm not actually there, I'm watching and daydreaming and have that silly happy grin on my face I knew I'd have.
My first impression of everything is, LOVE the trees!!!
Anyhoo....I digress.

If I was there watching this glorious occasion in person, I'd want to look pretty, feminine and a little dainty.
Here's what I put together for my Royal Wedding attire.

I just had to throw in the crown ring and I'm kind of obsessed with the BHLDN lace caplet.

I can't even express how much I'd love to be there at the moment but rest assured, I've got my tiara on:)
Make sure you like over to see all of the other lovely royal ensembles and check back here a little later...I promised my wedding photos and I don't like to break my word so they will indeed be going up after
Will and Kate are officially hitched.

I'll see you on Twitter lovers!!

Guest Post - A Dose of Pretty

Another day, another guest post:)
Today I'm over at the lovely A Dose of Pretty sharing a photo diary of my jewelery, shoe and bag collection...the post is basically a fly on the all peek into my accessory closet so I hope you enjoy.

Sara's blog is packed full of pretty, so make sure you linger and browse a while.
Here's some of the feminine gorgeous you'll see.

Tres lovely.

Enjoy your Thursdays love bugs...it's going to be a busy one for me.
I'm out tonight and then up very bright and early for the big WEDDING!!!
Check in tomorrow (after you're finished watching the big event) for, count them 2, wedding posts!
As always, I'll be doing Friday Fancies- royal wedding styles.
On top of that, I'll also be featuring photos from my own wedding (I hope, fingers crossed that I get the images all scanned in time,) tomorrow as part of Danielle's gorgeous wedding week link party- if you haven't signed up, hop on over and get ready to share a wedding themed post of your choosing tomorrow.

Royal Wedding Week - Crowns...and Ann Carrington

It's Wednesday people- that means that in less than two days, we'll witness a girl turn into a real life princess, right before our very eyes.
And when she does, we'll see her emerge from the church wearing one of these...

{I'm stealing the trick Meredith's used today as I'm exhausted from kids/guest posts/life at the moment- all photos can be found here on my Pinterest crown board }

Of course, I'll be wearing my little crown of sorts while I watch...just because I can, it being 3am and all.
It's a Regina B. piece I originally purchased for my wedding but didn't end up wearing (sshhh...there were a few of those things- anyone want a pair of unworn Vera Wangs??:)

Or maybe I'll just do this...

or not.

In reality, my only real chance at a crown is more along these lines...

Have I mentioned that along with loving all things royal wedding, I also LOVE Sixx Design???!!!

I want that artwork by the enormously talented Ann Carrington- like beaucoup.
I'm going off on a tangent here but check out her STUNNING sequin infused crowns.

Pearly Crown Jewels of England

Although I couldn't dream of an original, limited edition prints of these beauties are available and are a very reasonable 300pounds.
Yes, I think one of these might just be the only crowing glory my house will ever see.
