Style in Seven - Jacquelyn of Lark and Linen

Good Sunday morning boys and girls..it's been a rainy day few days here, with not much end in sight so if you're like me, you could use a little sunshine...well here it is.

I'm so happy to have Jacquelyn here from the very chic Lark and Linen.
L&L is one of my oldest and dearest loves and it's writer Jacquelyn....an utterly fabulous design talent.
Her blog is packed with decor inspiration and gives a very pretty peek into the world of an interior design.
Filled with gorgeous photography and stunning decor, Lark and Linen is a quite simply, a very sprarkly corner of Blogville.

So without further ado, here is the wonderfully sweet Jacquelyn with her dream home Style in Seven.

.......

When Christine first approached me about participating in her style in 7 series, I began to panic (after emitting squees of excitement and texting my boyfriend, of course. You better believe that text had a lot of exclamation marks). How is one supposed to sum up their style in 7 images?!

Being an interior designer, I’m constantly surrounded by incredible design & brilliant minds. Each and every day I find my style evolving. From Scandinavian, to modern, to glamorous and beyond, I love it all. But if I were to design my absolute dream home, this would be it:
1-I’d start with an incredibly charming home that screams history and character. While this house seems to be located in the country, mine would definitely be plunked in a quaint neighborhood right downtown Toronto. And I suppose I would forgo the sheep (if I must).

2- My foyer would have high ceilings, incredible original floors (that you’re not afraid to muck up after coming in from playing in the rain) and furniture and art I’ve amassed throughout my travels. It would feel like home (for everyone) the moment you walk through the door.

3- The rest of the space would have the same general feel, but would be infused with a touch of sparkle, and a little bit of whimsy (because who doesn’t needs sparkle and whimsy in their life).

4- While I love the sleek and sexiness of a glass table, I would definitely opt for an over-sized rustic one instead. One that has a few nicks and scratches from that dinner party I threw where my friends lingered late into the night.

5- The kitchen would surely follow suit with ample character. However, I would also ensure that it was up to date with the latest technology, and the highest quality appliances. I’m a baker at heart and without a doubt, the scent of vanilla and cinnamon would waft through the house on a regular basis.

 (HGTV)

6- Here and there I’d throw you a little big of something unexpected. Something like this metal pipe bookshelf that I designed (and my boyfriend built) to house our ever growing collection of books.

7- The bedroom would be a respite from the rest of the world. Crisp, white, freshly washed sheets that smell like lavender would adorn the bed, and the windows would always be open (because at my dream house, we also have dream weather).

Sigh. Just thinking about this makes me feel blissful.
Thank you so much Christine, for having me here! It’s been such a pleasure.

xoxo

.......

Thank you Jacquelyn!
Your style is simply stunning and your post...now that's what I call blissful!!

Wishing you all a fabulous Sunday.
I'm leaving for NY tomorrow so the packing/organizing fun begins this afternoon.
And speaking of getting things together, I'm taking part in Vanessa's 'Blogger's Organizational Tips' post today (can someone say jewelry storage:) so jump on over to have a look...four other gorgeously talented bloggers are also sharing their ideas so make sure you have a peel...plenty of pretty- promise!!

Oh and PS, regular scheduled posts will still be here while I'm away...though PKG might be on hiatus until next week...maybe we'll go back to some old school pink for tomorrow- we'll see:)
In any event, I promise posts will be up both Monday and Tuesday while I'm off gallivanting so make sure you come and visit.
